Divrei Torah Rooted in Breslov Chassidut

Collected Archive of Shoemaker Reports

The Shoemaker Report is Rav Hoshea’s weekly Torah publication. Its focus is on internalizing and living Torah from the heart, not only from the head. The divrei Torah often take the parashah of the week as their point of entry and address central questions of inner avodah — including teshuvahprayer (tefillah)emunah, bitachon, and related areas of spiritual and personal refinement.

The writing assumes seriousness from the reader and speaks from within Torah life, with meaning emerging organically from honest analysis of our holy Torah and the words of Chazal, rather than from short-lived inspiration or simplified conclusions.

Purification from the Filth of the Snake

In the early days of the automobile, if someone wanted to start his engine, he inserted the hand crank and turned it forcefully. Although he probably did not understand what was actually going on under the hood when he turned the crank, i.e. he did not understand the physical mechanism

Mashiach’s Weapon of War

How does Mashiach fight his wars? And by extension, how should we fight our battles? It is taught (Likutei Moharan 2:1):

To Rebuke or Not to Rebuke: That is the Question

We all know that the Torah instructs us to offer appropriate correction when we witness a fellow Jew behaving in a way contrary to the teachings of the Torah, as it is written (Vayikra 19:17): (You shall not hate your brother

Who is Mashiach?

We are all well acquainted with Rambam’s 7th article of Jewish faith, poetically rendered in our siddurim as: (I believe with complete faith [emunah] that the prophecy of Moshe Rabbeinu [our

To Repair the Sin of the Golden Calf

Last week in our article Don’t Worry, You Won’t Die we examined Chavah’s grave error in eating from the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The Torah describes her acceptance of the advice of the Nachash [Primordial Serpent] as a form of seduction, as it
